Deixar os computadores de lado, video games...e brincar na água, fazer um esporte não é muito comum, mas para este carinha..é demais pegar onda melhor que passar de fase em qualquer jogo....Só tenho a dizer, que é um grande talento, nos juntamos a milhares de brasileiros e com a familia, para torcer por mais um novo guerreiro que logo integrará o time no WT....parabéns Lucas!!! Em vez de videogames ou computadores, brinquedos preferidos das crianças nos dias de hoje, Lucas Vicente Alexandre, de 10 anos, tem como principal hobbie o surfe. Com a sua prancha, o menino virou atração das praias da Ilha, ao lado do pai, João Carlos Alexandre, seu treinador e principal incentivador. Ao todo, já são mais de quarenta troféus na modalidade. Hoje ele já coleciona títulos como o municipal de Itajaí em 2010 e o de Imbituba, em 2011. O pequeno surfista é o atual líder do ranking até 12 de surfe amador da região, Lucas compete com garotos maiores e mais velhos..

Segundo João Carlos, Lucas começou a competir aos cinco anos, por vontade própria, na época em que ele deixou de surfar para ser o treinador dele, pois só fora da água é possível enxergar os erros de um atleta. O início não foi forçado, garante o pai. “Ele sempre quis surfar, nunca forcei nada. Quando eu me acordava, a roupa dele já estava pronta do lado da cama. Mas eu saía muito cedo e não o levava. Ele chorava muito, então eu voltava umas sete horas e levava. Quando vi que ele queria mesmo, parei de surfar para ajudá-lo”, disse.

O talento de Lucas já vem rendendo benefícios para a família, que não desembolsa mais um centavo para ele praticar o esporte. Hoje, o menino estuda em um bom colégio de Florianópolis através de uma bolsa, e tem patrocínios para as roupas, pranchas e todos os acessórios como parafina. “A Mormaii já patrocina ele e para eles irem atrás de alguém, tem que ser bom. É muito gratificante, um orgulho. A cada dia que passa ele me surpreende, faz coisas que eu não acredito. O estilo dele de entrar na onda é de gente grande”, conta o pai coruja. A empresa de artigos para surfe tem a projeção de levá-lo para disputar um Mundial nos próximos anos.

João Carlos deixa claro ao menino que ele precisa estudar antes de realizar o sonho de ser surfista profissional. O técnico diz que Lucas vai bem na escola e só recebe notas acima de oito. “Se ele tem uma prova no outro dia, ele não treina. Se ele sabe alguma coisa do assunto, nós tomamos o conteúdo dele e vamos. Ele só não vem para a praia quando está doente. Primeiro de tudo, ele tem de ser campeão no estudo. Se não for campeão no estudo, não será campeão de nada”, acredita.

Lucas tem um irmão, Gabriel, de 13 anos, que até começou a surfar, mas não seguiu os passos do pai. O mais velho da prole, apesar de gostar mais de futebol, sempre está com a dupla na praia da Joaquina, onde Lucas é a atração. “Gabriel ia mais para me agradar. Ele desanimou e disse que não queria mais. O Lucas é local da Joaquina. As pessoas falam comigo, os mais velhos ensinam ele quando vêem algo de errado. É a atração da praia, o mascote da associação”, gaba-se.

Entre todos os surfistas, Lucas é fã do norte-americano Kelly Slater, dez vezes campeão do WCT (World Championship Tour), o Mundial do Surfe. Essa relação de fã e ídolo foi quebrada em 2009, quando o astro do esporte esteve em Imbituba para uma etapa do WCT. “Ele é o melhor do mundo. Quando ele perde, não bate foto. Se ele ganha, fala com todo mundo. Fiquei um pouco decepcionado, mas o meu sonho é ser campeão do mundo e espero ser tão bom quanto ele um dia”, conta o menino, que não conseguiu tirar foto com Slater.

A paixão de Lucas pelo surfe é tão grande que é até difícil sair do mar. João Carlos disse que precisa entrar na água para tirar o garoto, que fica reclamando por não continuar surfando. Entre todos os amigos do colégio, apenas ele pratica o esporte, então, a companhia de Lucas no mar são os surfistas mais velhos. “Meus amigos acham que eu sou doido. Surfar é o que mais gosto de fazer. Os mais velhos dizem que eu surfo bem e eles me ajudam bastante, dizem no que eu posso melhorar”, falou o campeão.
